As the summer arrives, many pet parents love taking their pups out to sea, and for a dog, few things are better than a day out on the water with their human. In spite of the fun in the sun, there are several safety considerations to keep in mind before taking your pooch out on a boat.

Every dog should be equipped with a dog life jacket, as open water waves can pull under even the strongest swimmers. Dogs with white or light-colored fur are also extra susceptible to sun burns, so you’ll need to apply dog sunscreen to protect them on the sunny boat deck!

There’s plenty more precautions needed to keep your dog safe and happy at sea, which is why we’re sharing this new Dog Safety Tips Infographic published by the dog lovers at K9 of Mine. Make sure to read these tips before you set out!
