Daisy has been adopted as of November 2017!

Discover more adoptable pets in the Healthy Paws and Pawsitive Alliance “Why Not Me?” program.

We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

“She is a spunky girl who will head-butt you for days. This Manx girl is going to make someone incredibly happy if they give her a chance.”

MEET DAISY.

Daisy is a 9-year-old Manx who has been nicknamed “the goat” by her foster family – she loves to gently bump her head on doors, people, table legs, everything! She was bottle-fed as a very young kitten and resided with an elderly pet parent for much of her life; when he moved to a senior care facility, she was surrendered to a shelter. Shortly thereafter, the shelter closed and she’s now at Purrfect Pals, waiting for her forever home.

When Daisy arrived at the shelter, she was overweight and overwhelmed. She’s since lost almost 10lbs since then and is much more active and fit. Daisy’s on a special diet to help keep her tummy trim and her kidneys in good shape; as a Manx, she’s got characteristic hind limb foreshortening, so excess weight puts harmful stress on her joints.

Cats like Daisy have a very hard time adjusting to a shelter where they are surrounded by other cats – it’s a totally foreign environment full of alien beings (at least to her). Her ideal home would be calm and quiet where she’s the sole kitty, and without children or elderly individuals. She would need a patient pet parent who understands the stress she’s under and is willing to grant her some space while she readjusts to a new home, new people, and a new life outside of the shelter life.

Check out the post for Daisy on Facebook, and her Petfinder listing—she’s house trained, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. If you’re interested and in the Arlington, WA area, give Purrfect Pals a call at (360) 652-9611.

Every Wednesday, Healthy Paws will highlight a new pet from Pawsitive Alliance’s #WhyNotMePets campaign. Visit the #WhyNotMePets page for a list of adoptable dogs and cats.
