We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

MEET KONA.

Age/Gender/Size: 3 years old; Female; Medium
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
Likes: The outdoors! Take her camping and hiking, and then turn in with a great snuggle buddy for movie time.
Dislikes: Kona is not fond of chaos, she needs calm stability right now. Strangers and small kids make her nervous, so she would do best in a tranquil home without many visitors and without any kids.
Special Considerations: Kona will need a home with a securely fenced yard to run and play in (no apartments).

Meet Kona! This lovable chocolate-and-white, 3-year-old girl is looking for a predictable household. S

he loves the outdoors and would make a great hiking buddy. She’s also affectionate and won’t pass up a chance to snuggle and watch a movie either! Her favorite past time is snoozing on the couch or on her dog bed, cozied up under a blanket!

Kona is smart and knows “sit” and “paw” already, and if treats are involved, she’s eager to learn more commands! She’s got a great personality and almost always has a smile on her face, with the cutest doggie grin. She will flourish in a home with someone who will make her feel safe and secure so she can focus on just being a happy pup. Because of this, Kona would do best in an adult only home as the ‘only child’.

Kona needs to be the only pet in the home, and would not do well in an apartment as she needs a backyard to run in. Strangers and small kids make her nervous, so she would do best in a tranquil home without many visitors and without any kids. Kona was spending some time in a foster home, and her foster home reported that Kona is house- and crate-trained.

If you are looking for a beautiful best friend to share your life with, then this girl might be the dog for you! Kona has been fully vetted and spayed by the Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale, WA. Find out more by giving them a call at (360) 692-6977 or emailing customerservice@kitsap-humane.org.

Every Wednesday, Healthy Paws will highlight a new pet from Pawsitive Alliance’s #WhyNotMePets campaign. Visit the #WhyNotMePets page for a list of adoptable dogs and cats.
