Discover more adoptable pets in the Healthy Paws and Pawsitive Alliance “Why Not Me?” program.

We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

MEET JANE CHATWIN.

Age/Gender/Size: 2 ½ years old; Female; Medium

Breed: Mixed breed (Labrador/Terrier/American Pit Bull)

Likes: Jogging, treats, and cuddling

Dislikes: Overwhelming situations (she’s a little shy)

Special Considerations: Jane is curious of cats and really wants to chase them, but wants to please people more. She’ll need to be supervised around small critters, and probably best not in a home with cats.

Jane is a happy, active girl looking to share her energy with someone and would make a great jogging partner. Found as a pregnant stray in Yakima, Jane’s puppies have all since been adopted. Now it’s her turn!

Jane is a shy girl and does well with other dogs with proper introductions. It takes her 10 to 15 minutes of interaction, and then she’s best friends. She does best with smaller groups of dogs as a lot of dogs can overwhelm her so no dog parks or doggie daycares.

Jane is highly treat- and attention-motivated; she’s very eager to please. She enjoys other dogs and would do great with a playmate. According to her foster home, she still has her momma instincts – one of the dogs she’s fostered with has seizures and she will lay right next to him, waiting to comfort him. Her foster home also reports, “She is ecstatic to see her people and her whole body shakes from the enthusiasm of her wagging tail. She has a wonderful pibble smile.” (Read her full foster home notes here).

Are you looking for that pet that will hike with you and then watch a Netflix show cuddling? Jane is your girl! She’s been fully vetted and spayed by the Motley Zoo Animal Rescue in Redmond, WA. Find out more by giving them a call at (206) 453-8480.

Every Wednesday, Healthy Paws will highlight a new pet from Pawsitive Alliance’s #WhyNotMePets campaign. Visit the #WhyNotMePets page for a list of adoptable dogs and cats.
