"Our 5-year old dachshund has been through two very major surgeries and dozens of vet appointments and less serious procedures over the past few years, and not only has Healthy Paws helped with the financial burden, reimbursing within days, they've reached out to provide support as well. We recommend them to all of our friends and family who have all shared with us that their experience has been just as positive. Highly recommend this company for anyone looking to insure your pets!"

Dog health insurance - for puppies to seniors
Whether your dog gets into mischief that lands him in the emergency room or develops a disease later in life that takes you both by surprise, your dog's medical care can cost you at any point in their life.
Insurance for puppies to five-year-old dogs
- Start protecting your puppy at just 8 weeks old and make sure you can protect them from anything like a pesky bee sting to parvo, a potentially life-threatening disease.
- Enroll your dog before the age of 6, hip dysplasia coverage is included at no extra cost.
Insurance for dogs six years and older
- As dogs age, hereditary and congenital conditions may affect your dog and these treatments can be expensive (although dogs of all ages are susceptible to these conditions).
- Enroll your faithful friend up until their 14th birthday. As your dog reaches the golden years, rest assured that they're covered for the lifetime of their policy.1

Common questions about dog insurance
What does dog insurance cover?
Healthy Paws covers the costs of veterinary care to treat new injuries and illnesses, including diagnostic testing, treatment, surgery, and medications. Coverage includes (but is not limited to): cancer, emergency care, genetic and hereditary conditions, breed-specific conditions, and alternative care.2
When is the best time to buy dog insurance?
It’s wise to enroll your dog in pet insurance as early as possible before any illnesses develop since pet insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions.
Can I use any veterinarian?
Yes! With Healthy Paws, you can take your dog to any licensed veterinarian in the U.S. or while traveling in Canada, including emergency vets and specialists.
Is routine care covered?
No, routine care is not covered. Although wellness care is an essential part of responsible pet parenting, there is a clear distinction between a wellness plan and pet health insurance. The Healthy Paws plan is meant to help cover unplanned veterinary visits, including diagnostics, treatment, and medication for injuries or illnesses that can quickly become very expensive and aren’t as easy to budget for. Routine healthcare includes vaccinations, flea control, heartworm medication, de-worming, dental care, ear plucking, grooming, and prudent regular care.
Are there any caps on payouts?
With Healthy Paws, there are no limits on claim payouts, per claim, per year, or for the lifetime of your policy, so you can get your dog the care they need without worrying about reaching plan limits.
