Other reasons to consider Healthy Paws over CarePlus by Chewy:

Other reasons to consider Healthy Paws over CarePlus by Chewy:

  1. CarePlus insurance offerings are administered by Trupanion or Lemonade.
  2. CarePlus will not allow you to select one of their Trupanion offerings if your pet has not been seen by a vet within the last 12 months. Though Healthy Paws has vet exam requirements in some states2, you are still able to enroll your pet as long as any applicable vet exam requirement is fulfilled within 15 days after enrollment.
  3. Plans from Trupanion have a per-condition deductible which requires the customer to meet the full deductible with each new condition. The Healthy Paws plan has an annual deductible which only needs to be met once per year.
  4. Lemonade plans have annual payout caps. With a pet insurance plan from Healthy Paws, there are never caps on claim payouts per claim, per year, or for the lifetime of the policy.

Consider CarePlus if you want a wellness plan that helps cover vaccines, dental cleanings, and other expected care costs. This can be a good way to supplement your Healthy Paws pet insurance plan, since Healthy Paws does not offer coverage for expected routine pet care costs.
