Scholarships from Healthy Paws Pet Insurance



The Healthy Paws family is made up of passionate pet-parents working to give all pets the happy, healthy lives they deserve. We're committed to pet health, and empowering the animal advocates advancing that mission in their own communities. To that end, Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is excited to announce two scholarships for spring semester of the 2019 academic year.


Animal Advocate Scholarship
One scholarship award of $1,000, paid in January, 2019.


Purpose:
To recognize a student who is committed to animal health and building bonds between pets and people, exemplified by their volunteer work in the animal welfare/advocacy community.

Eligibility:
Must be a United States citizen aged 18 or over.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited academic institution within the United States.
Must have volunteered with an animal-related charity in the past year.
Must not be an employee of Healthy Paws or an employee of any of its affiliates.
Must not be an employee or immediate family member of an employee of Healthy Paws or any of its affiliates.

Required Documents to Apply:
An essay no longer than 500 words describing your work volunteering with or advocating on behalf of animals. The essay should detail how an education will enable you to advance your commitment to animal welfare.
Recent transcript that shows grade point average and enrollment in a relevant program.
Proof of volunteer work with an animal-related charity in the past year.

Submit all required documents with your name, mailing address, e-mail address and phone number to scholarships@gohealthypaws.com Submissions become the property of Healthy Paws and will not be returned. Only complete submissions received at the email address above will be considered.

Deadline to Apply:
November 30, 2018

Notice and Issue:
Recipients will be selected and notified by December 31, 2018. Recipients must confirm enrollment prior to an award being issued. Awards will be issued to the academic institution.


Veterinary Student Scholarship
One scholarship award of $1,000, paid in January, 2019.


Purpose:
To recognize a student who is pursuing an education in veterinary medicine, including veterinary assistants and technicians.

Must be a United States citizen aged 18 or over.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Must be actively enrolled in a program related to veterinary medicine at an accredited academic institution within the United States.
Must have volunteered with an animal-related charity in the past year.
Must not be an employee or immediate family member of an employee of Healthy Paws or any of its affiliates.

Required Documents to Apply:
An essay no longer than 500 words describing why you seek an education in the veterinary field and how your professional pursuits will advance pet health in their community.
Recent transcript that shows grade point average and enrollment in a relevant program.
Proof of volunteer work with an animal-related charity in the past year.
