After his former family left him and a feline friend behind, Maynard was brought to Homeward Pet by a Good Samaritan. With his fluffy orange fur and cuddly personality, Maynard would be the perfect addition to any family. He is cordial with cats and is house-trained – the perfect pet! Maynard does need to be brushed on a daily basis, as his luxurious coat can form painful mats. Although Maynard is a hefty kitty by nature, he could also stand to lose a few pounds; a wet food-only diet should do the trick. Maynard is neutered and up-to-date with all shots as well.

Homeward Pet Adoption Center is located in Woodinville, Washington, and are moving to a roomier location just down the road. The non-profit, no-kill organization was founded in 1990 – 60% of all their animals are rescued from other shelters, where they would otherwise be euthanized. Only ten weeks old, this ginger-furred feline had a rough beginning. Renzo survived and is a handsome young kitten now! His shelter dubbed him “the Sherlock Holmes of kittens” for his inquiring nature. Renzo is very well-mannered and gets along with his own kind as well as canines and kids. He is currently fully vaccinated and house-trained. Upon adoption Renzo will be neutered in addition to being tested for heart worms and dewormed if necessary.

Yeagermin is a beautiful feline with a heartbreaking life story. Won’t you help this kitty get back on her feet?

Rescued from the streets at two weeks old, Yeagermin was nursed to full health by the shelter until she found a home – but it wasn’t her forever home. Nine years later she was found malnourished at a feral cat feeding station by the shelter; they realized who she was after scanning her microchip. Now Yeagermin is doing well and well-fed. She has long, gorgeous grey calico fur and luminous green eyes. Yeagermin is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and FeLV/FIV negative.

Friends for Life Animal Rescue is an Arizona-based, volunteer-run organization that works to save and improve the lives of homeless and stray animals. In addition, the group also runs a program called Project HART, spaying and neutering feral cats. Friends for Life is a big advocate of spaying and neutering cats and dogs, and aims to reduce population in local areas. The organization also refrains from using euthanasia unless an animal’s quality of life is severely affected and they are in too much pain to live happily. Animal Rescue of the Rockies (ARR) is a 501(c)3 non profit animal adoption group in Breckenridge, CO. Organized in 2003 by a group of friends who wanted to provide an alternative to the county shelter, ARR has successfully provided foster homes and then permanent homes to hundreds of dogs and cats to-date. Foster homes give homeless pets the chance to socialize in a home environment, and transition more easily into new forever homes. This black and white feline was found attempting to cat burgle a house to escape the elements before he was brought to Cares4Pets. Like any cat, Don Quixote enjoys his creature comforts, but those are hard to come by when you’re living life on the lam! At just two years old, Don is looking for a forever home with a pet parent to snuggle with and has lots of love to give. He has been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

Cares4Pets is a Philadelphia-based rescue group originally founded by vet school students. The organization takes in surrenders, rescues, and animals from local shelters that are overcrowded. Susie is a beautiful senior cat who enjoys sunbathing and curling up on the couch.

Susie is an outgoing calico kitty who doesn’t act her age. If you’re looking for a sociable, sunny feline, Susie is the one for you.

After her previous owners were forced to surrender her, Susie was brought to the shelter. Even though she’s 12 years old, Susie is very active and friendly – she proves that age is just a number! What Susie likes most is sitting on a windowsill or in a beam of sunshine soaking up the rays. At night she enjoys curling up on the couch and watching TV. Susie is house-trained and spayed and will be microchipped upon adoption.

She was transferred from another shelter to the Second Chance Center on January 4. Playing with all sorts of toys is Sage’s favorite thing to do; she is very spunky and energetic! Second Chance Center for Animals (SCCA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Flagstaff, Arizona. The group does not euthanize animals except in cases where a medical or behavioral condition is too severe and affects the animal’s quality of life. In addition to taking in dogs and cats, SCCA also provides shelter and homes for birds, reptiles, and small mammals. SCCA opened in 2004 and evolved from a veterinary clinic, specializing in the North Arizona area; eventually the need for a state-wide shelter became overwhelming, so SCCA expanded. The organization is currently in a 20,000 sq-ft shelter on 10 acres of land.
